The Next Step Team are proud to introduce Timothy D to the industry. Tim is based in Hastings, East Sussex very easy commute to Central London and all major UK cities. 

I left Winchester School of Art with a first class honours degree in Fashion and Textile design including History of Art 1980.

"I worked as a textile designer in the fashion industry for 26 years producing fashion and furnishing prints. I sold these designs in New York, Los Angeles, Paris and Lille ( France )

I also worked for Richard Caring at Together catalogue company . Producing prints exclusively for the company. Working at the head office in World’s End London & Hong Kong office. I also worked in India, New Delhi ,Jodhpur & Jaipur producing the sampling for the fashion shoot.

I eventually grew tired of all the travelling & being away from home, so relocated to the South Coast in Hastings, East Sussex. I brought a bar/cafe I named Whistle Trago in the popular old town of Hastings, which I ran for 21 years. Before selling the business end of April this year (2024)

Now I’m looking forward to focusing on painting, drawing & being creative. I also love spending time outdoors, working in the garden, or going for country walks with my dog. I enjoy coastal & woodland walks as well.

Fashion is another passion (including interior design) . I like to dress well or at least in a way that reflects my sense of style.

Cooking is another hobby I enjoy and I love preparing a variety of cuisines , including Indian, Italian, Spanish ( Mediterranean ) and Thai. I’m always open to trying new recipes & learning from my mistakes when they happen.

One of my favourite activities is meeting up with a good friend , visiting a gallery or V&A and then enjoying a good meal at a restaurant. I love good conversation & a good laugh.

I’m very much enjoying modelling & feel my experience of working in the fashion industry & running my own business’s a great help.
